Costs

Do I have to pay anything?

No. You do not pay a placement fee. Your future employer pays the costs of the placement.

Someone asks me for money and says they work with nowmatters.health. What should I do?

Do not pay anything. Write to us right away at info@nowmatters.health. Our partners are not allowed to ask you for a placement fee.

Requirements

What training do I need?

You need a completed nursing training or a nursing degree, for example a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

How good does my German need to be?

This depends on your path. For full recognition (Anerkennung), you usually need level B2. The certificate is not the most important thing. It is more important that you can talk with people in daily life.

I do not have work experience yet. Can I still apply?

Often yes. Experience helps, but it is not always required. Write to us, and we will look at your case.

The process

How long does it take until I am in Germany?

We cannot say exactly. It depends on your German, your documents and the authorities (Behörden). Full recognition often takes more than one year.

Can I work in a hospital?

Some facilities are hospitals. Many are nursing homes (Pflegeheime) or home care services (ambulante Dienste). You can see where you would work before you decide. The decision is yours.

Can I choose my employer?

Yes. You decide who you talk to and where you sign a contract.

How do I sign up?

At the moment, we accept candidates through our partners. Write to us, and we will tell you how to join.

Life in Germany

Can my family come with me?

Often this is possible, but usually not right at the start. The rules depend on your residence permit (Aufenthaltstitel). We will explain this to you when the time comes.

Who helps me after I arrive?

Your facility and we help you. If you have questions about the authorities, housing or daily life, you can write to us. You can also write in the evening and in your own language.

What does my employer learn about me?

Your employer sees what they need for your job and your recognition. They do not see your messages to us. They also do not see your answers in surveys.
